MiCTA Selects Arrow Electronics as a National Vendor for Equipment Purchases

Saginaw, Mich. (June 6, 2014) – MiCTA, a national, nonprofit group purchasing organization located in Saginaw, MI, has named Arrow Electronics as an approved national vendor for computing solutions. The agreement will enable MiCTA members to purchase a broad array of technology-related equipment from Arrow using MiCTA's negotiated volume discount.

The suppliers included in this agreement are BlueCoat, Brocade, EMC, Fortinet, PKWare, RSA, VCE and Websense.

"MiCTA is pleased to welcome Arrow Electronics as an approved national vendor for a range of computing solutions," says Tim von Hoff, Chief Operating Officer of MiCTA. "Our members operate a variety of complex, customized telecommunications and information networks. Being able to purchase from Arrow’s extensive portfolio enables members to expand, upgrade and extend their networks quickly and cost effectively."

“I am excited to bring our breadth of technology offerings to the MiCTA membership.  Arrow is committed to providing technology solutions to our public sector customers through our diverse community of reseller partners,” said John Cook, national sales manager of state, local and education for Arrow.  “MiCTA members can maintain relationships with trusted, local business partners while leveraging the cost savings of this competitively awarded RFP.”

MiCTA selected Arrow following a highly competitive RFP process that evaluates products and services on behalf of its nationwide membership. MiCTA's master service agreements deliver substantial cost savings to its members and eliminate the need for MiCTA members to conduct their own expensive and time-consuming individual RFPs.

"We look forward to working with Arrow and their partner community on the MiCTA agreement," said Jennifer Axt, general manager of state and local government and education for EMC.  "EMC’s converged infrastructure and private cloud offerings will be available via this agreement, and we look forward to discussing these solutions with the MiCTA membership."
